So I have been collecting Beatles multi channel content and wanted to get the "Anthology 5 DVD box set"
https://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Anthology-DVD-John-Lennon/dp/B00006GEMA
I ordered it on fleabay. The price was good, but not what I would call too good to be true. It was $27.29 with free shipping.

When it arrived I didn't look at it very closely. But then I saw some youhootooob vids about counterfeit beetles stuff. So I took a look at it and sho nuff it was counterfeit.

I started a case and I would bet that since I put the word "counterfeit" in ebay refunded the entire amount AND sent me a QR code to send it back free which I did. Interestingly the seller offered to refund $12 and "I keep the box" I replied I wanted a real one not a counterfeit. The seller who lists that he has sold many of them and has lots of inventory, lowered the price on his current aurctions to $23.88

The counterfeit could only be described as cheesey quality. Run the other way. I have to double check a few other ones too. Hope I don't find anymore rip offs.

I found one locally at Vintage Stock. The price was $40 plus about $3 sales tax. I looked at the set, and three of the five discs looked untouched, but two had a lot of handling scratches. The sales clerk pointed to their automatic disc polisher and we ran them through and they really cleaned up most of the scratches. I was very well impressed with that machine.

FWIW

Edit: All the other material is correct and authentic.

"you've done me wrong it's the same old song foreeever..and eeeverr!"
you gotta be SOOOO careful nowadays on fleabay, that is why I ALWAYS check anything I buy off fleabay now...thankfully the PPal counterfeit law is very well enforced...and I am positive 95%+ of the people don't even care it's a counterfeit or just can't tell the difference...
