DeMix Pro 6.0 is now available. The upgrade from v5 to v6 is on sale for $75 (regularly $100) right now. The separation algorithms have been improved, and the program has some processing improvements that allow for much faster local separations.

I tried testing one file so far. The separation between the electric guitar and synths on the Moody Blues song I Know You're Out There Somewhere using v5 could have been a bit better.

v6.0 yields better results. This visual shows how the new version was able to better separate the electric guitar from the residual synths; and the improvement is audible when listening to the stems.

Now, how to avoid the temptation to go back and redo stereo to 5.1 demix/remixes that already sound pretty darn good?

Thanks to our QQ member @nikomen who was one of the beta testers for Version 6.0.

I hit the button to log in (see my red arrow) and then followed the prompts. (The prompts are different for me now because I've already upgraded. I too was on v5.1.)

Thanks!

Seems they would want to offer that upgrade into their previous ver. (5.1); since, when I open the program it tells me I'm on the latest version.

They should provide that path for their loyal customers.

edit... also, send their current customers an email, notifying them that there is a new version; I'm not seeing that I received that either.

Same track, Lalal.ai:

This song doesn't have Acoustic Guitar or Piano but Lalal.ai can split those as well. Wind = Wind instruments (yes there are some in this track. Clarinet?).

Thanks!

I did get an email from them about the upgrade and the associated Black Friday sale. I wonder why you didn't.

Is it possible to take any stereo recording and mix it into 5.1? Is there an engineer who could do this for a price? Thanks...
