I watched this recently in 5.1 (not sure if atmos happened or not?). Rears seemed to be ambience. I was amused by the front speaker setup: the centre was mainly used for the bass guitar while almost everything else was coming out the left/right. It was listenable and I'm glad my centre speaker is up to it.

Also strangely, Elton's vocal was far better than I expected... good on him (at 75!).

I hope they clean it up a bit and issue it as a bluray...

very interesting read

I didn't know there was a new edit / mix in place that replaced the original stream.

Would love some input on this if anyone has done an A-B!

after a brief revisit, there's definitely a more properly produced/well balanced audio
