I actually don’t remember. Too many releases to have things sorted in my simple mind.
I went through the Beach Boys albums in my library recently, after a post on this thread alerting that some of the early albums that were in Atmos had disappeared, and Carl & The Passions was one of them that hadn't been removed. I believe the other hangers-on are the Christmas Album, Holland, Pet Sounds and the Sounds Of Summer compilation, plus the new Surf's Up and Sunflower mixes. Disclaimer: this is from memory and might not be totally accurate.

2112 (song) Atmos mix sounds much more aggressive than the 5.1 mix. The tracks after 2112 sounded better in 5.1 if I remember correctly. Only at Discovery now and it is great.

Although I'm listening in stereo with headphones, here's a bit of Spanish music history, when flamenco turned into experimental pop/rock/prog. I'll check the surrond tomorrow (Triana was a trio, so the mix may have its limitations)
The mix for "Abre la puerta" that was released a month ago was one of my favorites of the year!
If the album sounds just as good the single, this could be amazing.

Thank you for the member who posted that single. I Never heard of them before.
It's King Crimson meets Flamenco and it's freaking great!

"Abre la puerta" is IMHO the best prog rock song ever written by a Spanish band.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Rush self-titled Atmos mix? It’s the only one that hasn’t been remixed prior so I’m curious. If anything it’s good to know the multitracks are still available.

I’m really hoping for Caress of Steel now!
Before and After intro has the most layers and it sounds nicely separated, to me.

2112 is so much better than his 5.1 mix! Dig the waterfall over my left shoulder on the title track.
Plus no buried lead guitar, and just better sound, overall.
The rhythm section freaking SLAMS. Even better on AFtK.
Hemi sounds a bit hissy, but it always has. And the ambient stormy section in the back half of the song might have some rough tape moments. Still, it’s MUCH better than the previous 5.1 mix, which I f’!king hate.

Lots of releases! But where the heck is Brotherhood (New Order)? And why have they shifted the previous New Order releases back to stereo on their Apple Music page (while they still exist in Atmos if you added them to your library)? Anyone who knows what happened?

Movement, Low Life, and Blue Monday were the only 3 releases to get the Steven Wilson treatment at this time, and they’re still up. The problem is any bonus tracks *arent* in Atmos so the Atmos badge doesn’t appear on the album. But if you start playing any of the main album tracks they should still play in Atmos.

If you scroll to the bottom of album pages you’ll see “other versions”… these listings have no bonus tracks (or vice versa… album per album basis) and have the Atmos badge. Adding them to your library helps you find them easier:

Absolutely not needed in my opinion. I'm myself mostly a 70's prog & hard rock, fusion, and metal guy, but my tastes certainly go beyond those genres and eras, and one of the beautiful things about surround music is precisely that it's been useful for me to discover nice music in other genres that I wouldn't have tried if it weren't for the multichannel "hook".

That's just my two cents but I've read many others say similar things over here throughout the years. Everything should be welcome on this thread and if anyone feels they're in a position to say this is worthy and that isn't, well, that's their problem I'd say.
I would agree. I love the posts all together and usually check out a snippet or two from all (most) of them. I don’t have ATMOS but if they are interesting I usually save them in my library. I grateful you have the time to go through Freddy. Thanks.

So far, just an okay mix. I'm on track 3. Not bad, yet not extraordinary.
Yeah, the new U2 is certainly more discrete and adventurous than Achtung Baby (though that's a very low bar) but somehow the mix doesn't entirely gel together for me. There's a couple of fun moments though, like the bridge in Miracle Drug when all the backing vocals spin around the room, probably as good as this mix gets. It's a shame AB didn't get that sort of treatment.

Maybe I'm just not a fan of the album itself but I actually turned it off half way through the second time around and went for Vitalogy.
