I don't have an Atmos setup so I have only listened to The Nylon Curtain in 5.1. The first song ("Allentown") has almost nothing happening in the surround field. Things get better as the album goes on. The last four songs being particularly good.
A/B'd with the 5.1 from the music video DVD released in 2001, the Atmos is much less adventurous with the surround channels.

Jethro Tull Christmas Album in Atmos is on Apple was mentioned but nobody cared to post the link. It’s my favorite Christmas album, so there
Do any other Apple Music users find the Atmos mix on this album strange? At least on my 5.1.2 system, it seems the height speakers are being used as the main channels, including for the vocals and flute parts. Hardly anything out of the center channel. Also, the surround speakers are being used at least as much as the front mains. Seems like the channels got mixed up somehow. Certainly very different than how other Atmos mixes are rendered. (All other Atmos mixes I’ve listened to today sound normal.)

Here's part two--covering G through M--of 2024 critics' picks in Atmos. Overview and legend in my previous post. N-S and T-Z in the next couple of days.

And here's the fourth and final (and shortest) installment, covering T-Z. Part 3, with N-S, is above; Part 2, G-M, here; Part 1, A-F, plus overview and legend, here. The three previous installments have been updated to include picks by Slate's official music critic Carl Wilson and The Guardian's 30-11, which were published today (the Guardian's top 10 are coming later in the week).

You have to dig for it but there is a 35th edition of Motley Crüe Dr Feelgood, need to select a track from the popular playlist than select “go to album”. Haven’t had a chance to listen yet, is there a difference?
Link to both versions.
