I really like most of the Moody Blues Quads. All 10's to me except Days of future past. Can't wait to hear rhe SACD.:banana:

The recording quality of every Moody Blues QR is fantastic .

This one's especially good, "Question" really blasts out of the speakers. And while the instrument/vocal placements might not always be optimum, the mixing engineer was very playful at times, and that works well on several cuts. A '9' from me.

Those have sold in the range of $100 - $270 each according to the ebay shocker log. That covers ebay auctions since 2004, so I'm not sure what the most recent price has been.

According to that, the doors reel has sold for as high as $305, but once again I'm not sure how recent that is or what the most recent going value is.

Ack, it goes for that much? I'm new to this and that's my favorite Moodies album and one which needs replacing (I gifted my copy away) and was hoping to replace it.

Moody Blues Quad Reels always sold for well over $100 before the SACDs came out. Once it was determined that they "futzed" with the original quad mixes on the SACDs, the Quad Reels again sold for a lot, although not as much as before the SACDs.

I only have this on Q8 and was quite disappointed with the mix on the title track. Question doesn't even sound "right" (compared to the original stereo mix) as it's a different mix altogether. The rest of the album is not too bad - at least It's Up to You sounds good. There are bits here and there where the balances are different - stuff hotter or cooler than the stereo mix.

I have the Q8, I'd give it an eight (8).

For the mix only, the content is 9 IMHO.
