Well Folks. It was a dream for many many years. And on March 18 of this year - at the urging of @marpow Markie, he convinced me to document the progress of Dream into Reality . And 70 pages later, here we are. We digressed, we laughed, we debated. And we ( or I ) had fun. And I worked my arse off on this project as there was a house that was built next to the barn. Its done. Almost. Still need a few drywall repairs. Still need paint touch up. Still need some audio tweaks ( another set of sound anchors, etc ). The AV team was here again today and got this sucker DIALED In. I thought I had a nice system at my last house. What they did today is jaw dropping. The clean precise sound coming from where it was produced to be is wonderful. And the video ??? I went from a 2000 vintage projector to a 2024 Sony Projector. Here is - pretty much - the final product. Thanks guys and gals

Of course, by this time next year, I suspect there will be a handful or tweaks you would like to make.

My project didn’t include building a whole new structure to house it, so it’s only on it’s second page (that, and I basically redid the thread fron AVS forum after the fact). But it’s still a live project, hopefully with significant updates in the next few weeks.

The job looks amazing, the gear is to drool over, and I’m green with envy.

thanks Barfle. Lets rock out to some great Redbook CDs

I thought this was going to be a 9.4.6 layout but I'm counting 7.2.4, and I'm not sure I can see all the ceiling speakers.

How high is the ceiling? Looks like at least 10'.

And why are the side surround speakers on little stands, but the otherwise identical looking rears are not? Enquiring minds want to know.

And I see my prediction was correct, the rear speakers are not where the wires come through the floor. If the floor had been suspended it would be easy to go into the crawl space and move those. I showed this to my mum and she immediately said "that's a trip hazard".
