Yes I watched the BBC Documentary on him a few years ago, he struck me as a permanently angry bloke! Brilliant drummer though.
So Did I. A sad but true tale, of those whose fame lead them to commit all sorts of weird things.
But he will always be remembered as animal from the muppets.... ;)

If your interested in a really good CD where he is the drummer on all tracks, Masters Of Reality-Sunrise On The Sufferbus, out of print and very expensive.
Masters Of Reality

I saw Masters of Reality back in the early 90s when the band came to my college. Good show from what I remember. Someone yelled out "White Room!" at one point, and Ginger responded by giving them the finger.

RIP, Ginger.
Hopefully you'll get the peace part.
Unique, brilliant drummer.
One of the very last of the breed.

I saw Cream at Madison Square Gardens for there reunion, he was great.

I bought this CD way back when and you're spot on with your recommendation. If my memory is correct, this was reviewed in Stereo Review (Sound and Vision?) magazine with the writer stating: "Cream lives" and he was right. That magazine had critics whose reviews I very much respected, so I bought it based on that and was glad I did. A great album which I still listen to. R.I.P. Ginger.

Anyone who doubts Ginger's authenticity, just spin "Deserted Cities of the Heart", from Live Cream
Man, it sounds like TWO sets of drums; probably the best R&R drummer of all time
Crazy, yes; but gifted like no other; feet & hands were in sync; INCREDIBLE
RIP my friend; you brought many hours of joy to my Walkman, Discman, Ipod, IPhone, home theater, etc.
