Right there with you. Sort of a miracle he made it to 65, but still a shame to see him go.

A great live band. RIP Shane

A friend used to work for the Pogues. If the band stayed in a 5 star hotel so did all the crew. Every year they would have an Xmas party and have all their employees and family put up in a good hotel for the party, his wife & kids liked that. My favourite story was the band were playing some gigs in Hong Kong I think, shortly before the sound check on the last one they realised Shane wasn't there, then they discovered he'd forgotten about the gig and left HK!

I made a long drive yesterday, and it was wonderful to hear tributes to him on the radio--both music and news programs--all day long. Excellent obituary in today's Times:
