I'm listing these early enough so you can get them before the mail starts slowing down before Thanksgiving.
You will find here a richly diversified list of Holiday music titles, some from well-know artists, others from more obscure acts. In every case, the music is simply superb and will contribute in making your Holiday Season a festive one. Don't let the two Silverline DVD-As give you the impression that they don't have much to offer. These two titles were slated to be released by DTS but the label folded before they could hit the market. They were then licensed to Silverline and both contain beautifully played Holiday classics. Both the Barry Manilow and Vince Gill albums were mixed by the underrated Al Scmitt and are simply top notch. The Valjetessa SACD was a real surprise for me. I had never heard any of the music before but the melodies and harmonies are heavenly and I find the disc perfect to start the morning. The Pentatone disc features an unreleased Quad mix of a 1973 Philips by The Winchester Cathedral Choir and gently recreates the atmosphere of a Christmas Mass. I'm glad Pentatone offered us this rarity. The two Big Band Christmas discs are a lot of fun with solid mixes and a lot of festive energy. The AIX All Stars disc sounds amazing and features some great Jazz/Pop versions of the Classics played by legendary session players. All in all, there is something here for everyone.
