my nightly making-dinner listen. Although I was a pretty serious Bruce fan many years ago, had not really followed him until this came out. Love the 70's Jimmy Webb vibe.

yeah- Robert lived here for a couple years while he was dating Patty Griffin. He was pretty accessible then. Waterloo is a great, iconic store here in Austin....still love going in there.

Patty was with him that day. In fact, she said, "Come on Robert, you're holding up the line." He ended up buying a cheap Crosley turntable for some reason.

Haven’t listened to this in 25 years or more. I pulled it out today and cleaned it up and forgot how good this is. I don’t think it’s very well recorded but this was the first time I heard it on an upgraded system and it’s worth a listen. Only album I know of that gives you a preview of all the songs as a last track.

I like this album very much. Elton thought enough of the title track to include it on his recent box set. I am searching daily for the elusive UK Mono version of this album.

I don't actually stream much music. But I do have more of his albums:

I wish they'd included dates of recording on the cover. Sleuthing online this appears to be

"Studio recordings made at Webster Hall in New York, November 29-30, 1960."

So probably during the same 1960 US tour as the other LP. Which was his first US tour I believe?

And that's a weird coincidence. Today is November 28, almost 64 years to the day. Birthday greetings, bottle of wine!

Based on the hit If I Can’t Have You I expected a dance oriented album but not so, mainly straight ahead mellow-ish pop. Quite the all-star list of sidemen. Pleasant record, first time I’ve spun vinyl in months.

She was featured in an episode of the original Hawaii Five-0. This was after the Saturday Night Fever thing. She is from Hawaii, apparently.
