I switched on my old Pioneer QX-747 for the first time since 1991, no drama, I'm copying some of my SQ and QS LPs to a DVD-R to try out the SQ and QS decoders (again) in the QX-747 (stereo aux in, quad tape out, using my basement surround sound system).
One unexpected thing, I'm monitoring an SQ LP using (original) DPL, amazingly, it provides good directionality (seemingly no LB to RB separation though), also, QS via DPL doesn't sound as directional as SQ.
edit:
Just now listening to the Frankenstein song (SQ) - DPL follows the panning well.
