If I record distortion without any compression then the distortion will have a DR of 16!

I brought this up because I was listening to Num-Heavymetallic by Number Girl, and I felt that the music could have a lot more impact if it wasn't slammed in mastering. It has all the usual distorted guitar and drums and such, and I felt that leaving a bit of dynamic range whilst keeping all the distortion could have really helped the record a lot. In it's current state...it has powerful production (largely due to David Friddman), but lacks a powerful mix.

Bowled in my first tournament (TNBA Nationals) on a sport pattern. Here are my best 2 games (out of 6)

My average for the tournament was 186. My official USBC average is 157. Pleased with my performance for my first 11 months of bowling.

I know how that goes. My black Yamaha has been sitting on display on top a cabinet for years. My arthritis is so bad I can't make chords anymore or with great difficulty. But my playing didn't use to suck so much.

I got better at editing and mixing than practicing and playing and that eventually led to sitting behind the mixing board all the time. Guess I'm not the only one.
