I just want to give a personal thank you to all who have given good homes to parts of my collection recently.
Along with simply helping me to pay my bills, you all did something especially cool.
My seven year old son is a wonderful and very inquisitive person. As part of his autism characteristics, he deep focuses on certain things.
For quite some time, his refuge, his place to be by himself for long periods or to interact with his friends, family, and others, when he feels social, has been all things drones.
We have learned to fly all manner of inexpensive household style drones. And we’ve gotten fly time on friends’ higher grade drones.
My son can tell you all about many classes and models of drones, including highly sophisticated military kinds, from memory, like he’s doing voiceover for commercials or training.
Recently, I used my QQ Swap Meet money to buy him (us) a prosumer drone that has all the features he really loves. Camera, obstacle avoidance, GPS, and more.
He knows it is the family drone. It is only accessed and used along with an adult. He’s learning to be responsible with it. And we’re having a blast learning to pilot it and use its features.
Being able to provide it for him simply makes me feel less poor. I feel for any of our fellows on super tight budgets. Especially ones that aren’t necessarily super stable. It can be kinda scary!
Anyway, thank you, everyone! I thought it might warm some hearts to know where else some of our music hobby dollars go.
