This Pioneer receiver seems to be the 1st to include a true Dolby Surround decoder (in addition to 2 fake surround modes)
Add on surround sound "decoders" began to proliferate in the early 1980s, in most cases, they carefully avoided using the word "Dolby" and usually included several fake surround sound creation modes in addition to one that provided reasonably good decoding of DS encoded content.
Anyone found that any of these fake surround modes resulted in good surround sound?
