This disc is SUPER LOUD!!!

Otherwise, great mix and I’m tolerating the electronic drums in a couple of songs. I’m giving it a ’8’.

I remember the first time I played this on Vinyl. I had a WTH?? moment. Similar to Turn Of A Friendly Card, I grew to like it, but not love it, like the latter. I found You Don’t Believe a rip off of Lucifer but later found it complimented that song off of Eve. Never cared for Don’t Answer Me either. That was a time when quite a few artists were trying to copy the Motown sound.

My favorite tracks are:

Prime Time
Let Me Go Home
Since The Last Goodbye
Dancing On A Highwire
Pipeline
(best track on the album)

Modern discs tend to peak at 0dB or close to 0dB. It's not the type of disc that I would consider loud.

I’m not talking about compression loudness. Only, volume. Try playing Tales Of Mystery And Imagination. Then, without touching the volume control, play this one. Huge difference on my system.

That's exactly why I posted the DR report above, I didn't mention compression. I wanted to show you peak and RMS values.

A great sounding discrete surround mix but a couple of cheesy songs particularly the song Since the Last Goodbye IMO.
A 10 for the 5.1 surround mix and SQ. A 8 for the songs themselves. No problems at all with brightness or center channel. The single disc blu ray is a great bargain these days.
I voted 9 overall.

I loved this album since the day it came out. I really wish Alan and Eric would have asked Roy Orbison to sing Don't Answer Me. The song was perfect for him and sounds like a song he would have recorded back in the early 60's.

I voted 9 because of the mess up with the disc having been authored in 16 bits instead of 24 bits.

I just got my stand alone disc the other day. While not my favourite Alan Parsons recording the mix and surround were excellent! I would give a ten and a ten an eight for content. So I'm voting a 9.

The two videos bring me back to the MTV days, when they actually played music!

I found the menu a bit awkward, you have to scroll down then over to select MCH and then scroll back. Why not just put the stereo and MCH in the same list with no jumping back and forth?

I randomly played this disc the other day and thought I would post some comments. First off, this is an iconic APP album for me, so content is top notch. The surround mix is very well constucted, discreet and lively in all channels. My fave song is 'One Good Reason', which is incredibly well done, and just felt really, really good. 'Pipeline' is also a standout, playfully using the surround channels. I do appreciate Eric Woolfson's vocals, so this album does not disappoint in that regard. Definitely a 10!

Woolfson was the glue. (meant in a positive way!)
