Not ready to vote yet, but it seems like the vocals are missing, Well, not missing, but remarkably low in volume. I never heard this album before, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it sure doesn’t sound right to me.

I had just played some of “Diamonds” and that was beyond expectation, so I don’t think it’s my setup. I did check the center speaker and it had sound coming out of it, just not as much as it seemed should be.

Is this an artistic decision or do I have something else I need to fiddle with?

It knocked my socks off. Atmos mix is probably the smoothest mix I've ever heard from Parsons.
Maybe a bit front - rear centric but otherwise excellent. 10
In the heights i’m getting guitar solos, sax solos, keyboards, backing vocals and orchestra, maybe you should try turning up the heights a tad, it does make a difference

Whilst I love this album I’m only able to give this release a 7 unfortunately (5.1 set up). You can’t argue that the sound quality has been improved however the mix is far too safe when compared against some of the excellent surround mixes we have had in the last 6 months. I really didn’t hear much going on in the rears at all on this one. I’ve also always found Parsons mixes of his own music to be quite dry as well, I also didn’t like the eye in the sky mix for this reason. Turn of a friendly card in my opinion was the best sounding of the ones he has done to date. Interesting I’ve also just received and played Elton John’s diamonds and The Who’s next stand alone and they are amazing immersive mixes compared to this.

Did you play the dedecated 5.1 mix or the 7.1 downmixed to 5.1 ?

I just got through my first full play of this. I run 5.1.4.

This is a very pleasant surprise. All channels are active. There are a lot of effects and percussion on this album. Some of it is discretely sent to the heights, so if you are the type who likes discrete stuff above your head, this has it. No issues with the fidelity here. It sounds glorious. And not bright sounding either like some of the previous AP releases were judged.

Ive always liked the album and the concept, so no issue with content from me. The Hypgnosis album art is so good, it hangs on the wall in my listening room.

This is a 9 or 10 for me. Ill vote after another play.

I did keep getting the urge to crank it more as it played through. Is it cut low in level?
