Oh Boy . . . my first impression is this is a flat and lifeless production. I have been listening to this album on vinyl since the 1980's so that is my reference point.
I am shocked by the limited dynamics on this offering.
I have a decent Atmos system. Admittedly I don't listen to this album from a digital source very often so maybe they all sound like this?
I'll do more homework and listening before casting a vote.
I dont know if I'd go so far to desctibe it as "flat and lifeless", but as i said in post #33, I often felt the need to raise the volume throughout the listening session. I guess the good thing is that its very crankable.

Finally got a copy after months of waiting and it wasn’t worth the wait.

It is better than the dreadful mix on Turn of a Friendly Card, but it is still one of the lesser surround mixes I own.

Vocals are quiet and airy, sound like they have reverb applied to them. Rears are much too aggressive. One of the only discs I own that requires recalibration of the system to get decent sound out of it.

Booklet is nice, though. But I paid $30 for the disc and think it is worth maybe half that.

6/10

My standalone backorder arrived from Acoustic Sounds today.
I have a huge soft spot for all of the first 3 APP albums so Pyramid was always one of my favorites. I was 19 in 1978 and had all of the original vinyls. These are all desert island albums to me.
Listened to the Atmos mix and it’s a solid 9+ for me. Made my day!
Please, I Robot next!!

What configuration are you listening in, 5.1? Atmos?
