I will be out of action for a few days, as tomorrow I am having a new shiny metal (partial) knee installed in my right leg.

STOP RUNNING NOW!......30 years of running every second day at a weight of 260 lbs.

I am still recovering from the $15,000 financial damage....don't get me started on greedy bloody overrated doctors.

The "free" health care system in Australia is a partial myth. The first and best system was called Medibank and was set up in 1974. Essentially the "doctors" union the AMA and healthcare insurance funds mounted a huge campaign against it as it was having the effect of controlling or regulating "doctors" wages. Subsequent conservative and weak labour governments did not have the guts to hold their ground and the current strange mix of pubic/ private occurred. The system puts you in a long cue for what is called elective procedures....stuff that does not threaten your life. It often does not include really specialist stuff - like my knee that does not need a full replacement but instead a partial. I might be able to wait a year and get it done but by that time I would need a full replacement.

So the result if you need something serious and life threatening you are better off in the public system and its fully covered and free but paid by general taxation!

So partly through fear the private system has grown and people lash out several thousands a year on it, it also covers bullshit stuff like acupuncture and chiropractic. I have elected to be uninsured as legally it turns out you are in a worse position in the private system if you have to sue a "doctor" as I did in 9 years of hell 30 years ago.


The "doctors" here have been clever and have greatly restricted graduated in universities and importing "doctors" from overseas, the result is there is not enough of them and the law of supply and demand has worked in driving up their wages. For example my anaesthetist is charging me $1850 for 1.5 hrs work....around $1200 per hour. I will get reimbursed around $500 though the medicare system.

The anaesthetist claims $500 does not cover his "costs" for the 1.5 hrs work so they arbitrarily set whatever rate they want- greedy bastards! The $500 was originally set through medicare as a fairly generous payment as anaesthetics are not a costly medication.

I always describe "doctors" as such as they are in fact not real phd's , they have given themselves an horrific title, all helps to put up their unquestioned hourly rate.

4.5 hrs of surgery. Worst part was the spinal injection and waking up busting for a piss, but all dress up and no where to go ( so to speak). Recovering now, recon I will be back next week and I might take up swing dancing tomorrow.

Good Christ that's fast !! My knee replacement kept me in hospital 6 days ! And yes they make you walk on it 2nd day .

Second one was 5 days. An Arthroscopic prior was same day .




But I digress 》 》 》 What are the chances Chucky , of a new S M incorporated with UHJ , CS , or just SQ QS UHJ ??

Got back home last night and have been doing stuff today and walking around without crutches tonight, I am (against the doctors orders) to try a slow racer bike ride tomorrow. I have a habit of healing quickly, a few years ago I broke 12 ribs and a shoulder in a racer bike crash (peddle) and I was advised I would be in hospital for 6 weeks. I spent two days in intensive care and 6 days in the general hospital and was back at work after 10 days, it was an exercise of pain control.

In total I have broken 24 bones, torn out both biceps (and re attached them), had two hamstrings transplanted into my right arm, a donor Achilles tendon transplanted into my left arm, torn and ACL tendon, detached the other one, detached my shoulder AC tendon, have around 15 sprains on both ankles with multiple foot injuries, had around 5 hamstring tears, hit by cars, had Cyro Ablation on my heart to fix an old rhythm problem. You would think I would learn by now. Oh two week ago I had a 65 kg dumbbell fail on me and crash into my mouth - driving my tooth through my top lip, no tooth damage luckily.

I really do not see us developing the SM for those other matrix's as it is contrary to our companies philosophy of promoting Involve encode.

Oh well those other matrices woulda been fun perhaps. I only mention those as most are still attainable .(FWIW my own preference would be the short lived BBC MATRIX H and MATRIX HJ , alongside UHJ)


You heal quickly, that's great. It took me 3-4 mos. to get to the bend degree required by my physio---for ea. of my knee replacements ---2 yrs apart respectively.


And you got that right......Riding on a bicycle helps BIG TIME .

How dare you say such things about me!

When I returned from Hospital the next day and subsequent 2 days I did a bit too much and it looks like I caused the leg to swell up with fluid. The quack first thought it was infected and back to hospital for me. I have been stuck in this hole ever since and if I am a good boy I go home in 2 days time. At one point they were talking about opening the thing up again and cleaning it out .....3 times over a week.

Anyway bored out of my brain, that's why I am complaining to you guys.

Attached is a photo of my leg on the day it was starting to swell. Great legs you must admit.
