I've scrounging around for info. Nothing definite. Someone posted on SHF about vinyl coming out on 10-27. They posted at 7:07am, "Browsing on Amazon, I stumbled upon proposed Camel vinyl reissues coming at October 27th 2023."
And this was posted on the SDE Postbox, 2 days ago, " It is rumoured that it has been cancelled indefinitely."

Too good or too cheap to be true! It would have cost us a lot more for the amount of material. Take this in a positive way. We saved a lot more money to buy new surround releases.

If it is cancelled why go to the bother of printing all the publicity stuff, why pay an engineer to mix it all into 5.1? I’m sure it will still get a release but with a bit of a price hike

There was a post that broke the camel's back on a Prog forum on May 16th that a sole retailer, LaserCD, said it was cancelled indefinitely. (^See what I did here.)

How reliable is that?

So, the band canceled their tour because of illness. Then a release date of Oct/Nov is announced for vinyls . Why would they cancel "indefinitely" a highly anticipated box set with BR surround?

Crap. Now I'll have to check it. Figures it was too good to be true. I wonder if any of the multichannel mixes actually exist at this point and now are simply being shelved. If so, typical band and record company - screw the fans.

Hopefully Camel multichannel mixes will surface at some point in another format - for vastly greater sums of money, of course.

Did you receive an email/refund from jpc to that effect? I haven't.

I think their website is kaput at this moment. I can't send them a website message and my list of orders is empty. If they cancelled my paid April order they owe me a refund.

[Edit - I just realized I placed this order without logging into my JPC account using a different email. So, I can't check the status without sending an inquiry. D'oh! I'm such a de-mensh-iant]

For what it's worth, my order, placed (and paid for) on April 17, still shows up in my open orders list, with a release date: 27.10.2023. (I have another item on the same order, which is being held, to be shipped together once all items are in stock.)

Same with me regarding jpc.de showing my order is still active. Indeed, I emailed them last month (July 17) about needing a change of address for the order and they did that without contradicting me on the Oct. 27th. release date. I take that to mean they're still expecting it (otherwise they could just say "Ah, irrelevant as it's off anyway").

My order is still active on my JPC account, with a status of open and release date of 10/27/2023, but the listing for it on the site says it's no longer available and is not orderable. I found it on a couple of other obscure sites which said it was no longer available. If I had to guess, it's been shelved. We'll need to see what JPC does with these orders after 10/27.

If the mixes and production work really do exist, we can only hope they get released at some point, and not for outrageous money.

So, for those who placed and paid JPC for this order in April (16th). JPC's release date is one week after PayPal's 6 month cutoff for billing redress.
