Another thank-god-for-this-forum release. I doubt I would have learned about it otherwise. I echo all that's been said already--great material, mix and mastering. And the mini replica cover, booklet and inserts are beautiful. A 10 all the way for me.

Absolutely a 10, or even an 11. I bought an SACD player especially for this. I do have a needledrop of the Japanese SQ LP and tried to get a vinyl copy in good shape for some time now but was never lucky. But this SACD just blows it all away! WOW! This is one of the the 2 ultimate quad albums, together with DSOTM.

I believe there were more, for instance Kimiko Kasai with Gil Evans "Satin Doll" release in 2007 was also a mini-LP SACD including the quad mix from 1973

i've eyed up the SQ LP of that album a few times the last few years but never took the plunge and bought a copy (for reasons unknown.. but guess now it wasn't meant to be, as just found a used copy of the SACD for a - say it slowly and its slightly more palatable - £52 +shipping!).. hoping the surround mix is alright! ah well.. in for a penny (and all that jazz!)

I wish I did, but unfortunately no, only the ones already mentioned here. The Kimiko Kasai album makes me think there might have been more though.

ooohhh.. maybe a Stereo SACD will turn up.. or maybe it'll be SQ encoded, so I can decode it.. or maybe it will be Multichannel from the Quad after all.. life is full of surprises, as is this forum!

Putting aside for a moment the issue of sound quality, the whole album is on YT and I think it decodes in SQ:
At least it sounded like quad through the VarioMatrix SQ decoder.

Ok guys, I need to backtrack on the Kimiko Kasai SACD. The one I ordered finally arrived and it is a beautiful "mini LP" edition, but it is the size of the SACD, not 7in like the Miles Davis.
