Yes it was, it did EV-4, SQ and QS automatically. Actually the EV-4 coefficients were modified to make it more like SQ (with blend). As I recall it had switchable vari-blend on the rear channels to improve front to back separation. It sounded like a great idea but In actual use it was a compromise for everything!

I forgot Len Feldman mentioned this in Four Channel Sound. From what I gather with the addition of rear channel phase shifting employed in the decoding process it can mostly place proper sounds in the correct corners albeit with some phase issues. Unsurprisingly according to Feldman's drawings the decoder still works best with EV-4 material.

No, life keeps interfering! And I recently moved and can't even find my Involve Sm-2! But if you are interested, make me an offer I can't refuse. I know exactly where the EVX is at, in my storage unit.

Thanks for the reply & the kind offer on the EVX 44. But I need another decoder like I need another hole in the head...

Good luck on recovering from the move. I remember about a hundred years ago when I moved out of my parents house, a friend said: " choose your boxes wisely. For they shall be with you the rest of your life". He was right.
