With a bunch of Atmos/surround preordered titles shipping in the next month, I figured I'd doublecheck current prices against my Amazon preorders, whether the latter had dropped, etc.

I was able to save about US$10 in total by combining 3 preorders into a single order with importCDs, even with importCDs charging shipping; the item price difference was enough to offset. Yes, it's possible that the Amazon prices might lower to match, but we're close enough to release date, that this is doubtful.

The 3 titles in question:

Marillion - This Strange Engine (4CD + Blu-Ray).
Amazon: No longer available for preorder
ImportCDs: $27.45

Alan Parsons - Pyramid Blu-Ray
Amazon: $26.05
ImportCDs: $21.58

Opeth - The Last Will and Testament (CD + Blu-Ray)
Amazon: $19.98
ImportCDs: $16.98

Almost without question I have found that when you can get it at ImportCDs, get it as opposed to Amazon. Of course, after release, if in stock at either, prices may change and this may vary, particularly if you have a Importcds sale coupon.

Will importcds ship each item separately as they are released or will they be combined into a single shipment? I ask because the Alan Parsons comes out on 12-13 and Marillion & Opeth come out on 11-22.

I routinely check and compare Amazon vs ImportsCD, for prereleases, and generally find Importscds cheaper or about the same at worst (factoring in 5% Amazon credit card rebate and Amazon Prime free shipping on Prime items)

I discovered by not ordering direct from RHINO when they first announce their bundles or Dolby ATMOS BD~A releases, you can save a bundle by being patient when they show up at retail vendors.

I just ordered Carly Simon NO SECRETS and SEAL's first Album [both BD~A ATMOS] from Deep Discount and with their pretty frequent 15% off coupons for IN STOCK items paid $16.99 for each [LIST: $24.98] and received FREE s/h which represents a 32% discount [which beats RHINO's 10~15% coupon codes when and if they work].

Remember, fellow QQ Posters: PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE and can save you a few bucks!
