My bad , Sting "Sacred Love" is the title that was on DVDA SACD . I have the DVDA .....but somehow I had Soul Cages stuck in my little grey matter.😩
So Not Soul Cages , ...sorry if I got your hopes up.
Because of this thread I got a copy of The Police 'Classics' on eBay for $21 shipped. Great listen, the tracks from the 1980s albums in particular have some good discrete elements. Easily the best version of these tracks I have in my collection.

There’s a LOT of stuff that’s not on Discogs. I’ve probably put 20 or more releases on the site myself. All are commercial releases.

It’s all volunteers doing that. They certainly don’t claim completeness.
I have to agree. There's been more than a few times I went looking on Discogs and came up empty.
But @JediJoker had a valid question. There's some pretty obscure stuff out there from...well I don't know if you can them "labels", just small time with a few Artists under their umbrella.
Quadro? from Germany I think comes to mind....could be wrong though.

I was surprised to see a few of my purchased/gifted recordings there, considering a few of the comments I got from mods when adding releases from my collection. I got some flack for putting up the laser disc of "Anima Mundi" because the mod thought it was a "movie" that didn't belong in a music database. Yet they have stand-up comedy albums all over the place. The mods put it up for a vote and it was approved, but the reasoning behind the flack was unsupportable.

I don't even bother. I have bought titles through sellers on Discogs, and they have been good to deal with.
But I'm not about to go through all my collection to see if something exists online or not. ...but I don't have all the specialized formats you do either.

For sure. I've contributed a handful, mostly Japan-exclusive CD releases of albums that didn't get physical releases in other countries.

I can’t say why I put as much stuff on Discogs as I have - maybe just to see what it’s worth. Of course, if I’m the one putting it up, there’s no sales history, so it’s not worth anything.

So far, I have put up my digital discs (CD, SACD, DVD-A, etc), my laser discs, and my Franklin Mint 100 LP classical colection. That came to about 700 releases. I have yet to do the rest of my vinyl and 78s, which will be well over 1200 “releases” by themselves.

(Since the Franklin Mint records came two in a package, that’s only 50 “releases” by their definition.)

It's nice to have your collection up on Discogs. It lets you catalogue your entire collection. It is hard for those of us with large collections and old memories to remember just what we have! There was a time that I knew everything that was in my collection, long long ago! Listing in this manor quickly shows me when I have multiple copies of an album or CD that I might have been unaware of. As I go through my collection I can see when one CD or another has gone missing, I can then purchase another copy.

I once used a program called "Collectorz", entering most of the information manually. That program crashed on me several times and I had to start over! No worry of that happening with the collection up on Discogs. No need for me to backup my listings either.

Discogs have many odd, (stupid in fact) policies. I hate the capitalisation rule for one. The most popular albums have multiple releases so you have to figure out which one you have. Like barfle I've had to add many unlisted versions and titles that weren't there previously. Discogs relies on people like us to do the work for them! Like barfle I have many LP's and CD's that I still need to add. It is a huge chore when there is no other release that you can simply copy and then edit.

It's nice to see the collection value listed. It's good to give you some idea of what its all worth. That value might be useful for Insurance purposes as well. Sadly if an item has never sold there is no value listed for it. So called "unofficial" release also show no value and are blocked from sale.

I get that totally.
But I have only a few LP's left, and everything else is ripped so I can just look through the folders and see what I have, pick it out and immediately play it.
All DTS-CD, SACD, DVD, DVD-A, Atmos titles etc are on mirrored drives. I don't have quite enough space to mirror ALL the Blu Ray surround titles but I'm getting there, plus I have copies on another pc.
When I get a new title it gets ripped right away and artwork scanned, then the physical copy goes in the racks.

Not everyone's way but works for me.
