No of course not. But I love reading different opinions on albums even when they are not in agreement with me.

It's all the rage to be Eagle haters today don't ya know ?
They only displayed some of the best writing and musical talent in rock for how many decades now?
I guess they're just a little too country for some.

I must admit I'm not really a country afficionado but this album is really a great music piece beyond the styles.

Even though New Jersey is a small state, South Jersey and North Jersey have the same us/them issues as California. The people born and raised in the Jersey shore refer to us beach invaders as "Bennies."

Back on topic: Years down the road, even with all this newer Atmos stuff, the 5.1 of the Hotel California album still remains my primary demonstration disc. The separation of the guitars on Life In The Fast Lane is phenomenal.

I could see them doing it if they intend to include Atmos on it, but otherwise, no. No need. The DVD-A and SACD are also both lossless, so why bother?

If I’m not mistaken, isn’t the DVD-A out of print, and wasn’t the SACD a Japanese release? By putting it back out on Blu-ray, it will be more accessible and affordable

Yeah I'm thinking there's a market for such a huge album re-released on Bluray. Maybe the 80th anniversary edition.

commentarys I've read at Stereophile based on the death of J. D. Souther this past Sept 17th.

Especially as the only "mainstream" playback device that exits is a Bluray player! I understand the diminishing returns of putting out physical media these days, but I would wager this is one of the titles that would justify the cost/effort in returns, for the wide audience this *might* (should) attract...

Add an ATMOS version in addition to the existing 5.1 version, just to really make it worthwhile...
