The blues had a baby, and they called it rock & roll. Chicago is the capitol of the blues.

So, what's your first blues album? Please list 5.1/Quad/Stereo/Mono, format LP/Q4/Q8/SACD/DTS/DVD-A/8 tk/Cass/4 tk (NOT Quad)/2 ch Reel/Playtape/Tefi, etc. The year and place of purchase are optional. Here's mine:

I bought this Stereo LP in 1968 at the local record store in McHenry, called Shay's Music World. They had to special order it. They were famous for holiday weekend guitar marathons on WLS. They went out of business later that year. Taj Mahal's first album, and still his best:

Thoug if you want pure American Blues then a live compilation album called I think blues alive.

Sorry i am miles away from my collection and jet lagged 3 days and only 16 hours sleep, juts trying loads of stuff to keep myself awake before i fly home tomorrow.
