I find that “13th Star” is a less progressive album than “Weltschmerz” or “Feast”. It pairs better with his first two solo albums & “Sunsets on Empire”. Songs of heartbreak and angst.

"Miles de Besos", "Arc of the Curve", "Where in the World", & "13th Star" are some of his best heartbreak lyrics and heavier synth elements that should sound great in surround.

I think the lyrics are tied to Fish's 2007 relationship with Mostly Autumn singer Heather Findlay. They announced a wedding engagement and she ended up cancelling their scheduled wedding.

“Square Go” is one of his best rockers that should really test your bass.

Very much looking forward to this.

Ordered.
Hadn’t gotten round to the Vigil’s End package either, so both are coming my way

Very pleased with the Weltschmerz package, so if this is anything like that, it should be worth it.
The 2008 show will most likely look very outdated…

Pretty pricey for a single album (a little over $60 shipped to US), but I went ahead and ordered anyway. Although I don't consider 13th Star to be as progressive as some of his work, it remains a great collection of Fish songs with excellent production/SQ and enough proggy touches to remain interesting - not unlike much of the Hogarth era of Marillion. Speaking of Marillion, this looks to be a book set style package like the recent Marillion EMI re-issues (and, of course, the JT sets) with gorgeous artwork and a lot of extras. I just hope the Atmos/5.1 mixes are significantly better than almost any of the Marillion surround mixes. Note: I immediately received a confirmation email after purchasing from the Fish store.

The new 2023 stereo remix isn’t on the Blu-Ray, only the original 2008 mix?

Ordered yesterday arrived this morning, that's Scottish efficiency for you (I am biased on that score!).

Just getting the crane to stick it on the top of the to-listen-to mountain!
Ordered mine today Duncan
Hope the mix is top notch

Your review is somewhat down the line!!
Hope the Cranes bill is strong... :D

On a side note...nothing from IR about them quads...(I Don't think we will)

I was listening to the album in an anticipation of the deluxe box.

Avril & Andy have some great effects available to them to make an awesome Atmos mix. In “Miles De Besos” there is a music box type effect intro that would be cool hanging over your head in Atmos.

And the industrial type guitar crunch of “manchmal” and the other rockier songs is gonna be awesome.

Man, I hope am not getting too hyped up only to be disappointed.

Definitely interested to see how they approach mixing in Atmos, and I'm hopeful that the mastering is a bit more sympathetic than Weltschmerz this time around - the quieter passages of that 5.1 mix sounded amazing ("Garden Of Remembrance" is gorgeous), but there was an odd 'mushy' quality and loss of clarity to the louder bits. All their Marillion work suffers from this to varying degrees, though oddly enough Script For A Jester's Tear - while disappointing from a surround POV - might just be the best-sounding of the bunch.
can't deny i'm a bit loathe to take a punt but i guess the Atmos won't be streaming.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Note Fish has both an EU and UK store... both can be reached by the menu from his official site. Fish - The official site of the Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Author - one may be less coin for you than the other... it seemed that the UK store worked better from my calculations to the US. Also, I didn't have Weltschmerz as I skipped it due to high shipping costs... but those costs are now spread across two titles... making it a bit friendlier.
