Atmos Blu Ray ripped.
Atmos MKV file, 24bit/48Khz. Player> JRiver. I listened via 5.2.4 rig. (2 LFE subs and one non LFE sub). Volume was comfortable at 74db.
I listened to tracks, DR's are 10's, 11's, 12's, 13's.
I listened as a whole MKV file for gapless. DR 15.

Super fun listen, everything a surround enthusiast could want.

For $20 it’s a total winner…… easy 10 for mix (s!), content the works. A must buy.

I’m finding that the 5.1 mix sounds superior to my ears compared with a fold down of the Atmos mix on my 5.1 system as I don’t have Atmos. I’m sure that would be incredible though. It’s so discrete. Thinking it beats everything in my collection for discreteness.

IMHO this is the definitive version of Yoshimi. This is arguably the greatest surround mix ever made. It also illustrates Atmos superiority to 5.1. Height channels add a needed dimension to imaging.
Excellent album too. This and the Soundgarden Badmotorfinger BR are two recent editions that have fixed massive mistakes in either the mix or mastering. I now consider prior versions for either in any format to be obsolete or a curio. For Yoshimi, the DVD-A was compressed to the point it dominated the sound and distorted out smaller details. There were 3 songs on this BR I didn't recognize at first. Finally, Yoshimi can breathe and one can hear all the weird textures.

The visuals ended up being worse than QQ reviews indicated. This reminded me of the sort of bad Butthole Surfers joke they used to play on their fans. Epilepsy sufferers should note to keep Yoshimi's visuals off...forever. Seriously.

I hope the FL decide to remix (and re-master) some of their newer back catalog as well.

The visuals ended up being worse than I imagined. Anyone forced to endure this obtrusive monstrosity should be entitled to punch the visual designer in the gut without recourse. Was this supposed to be a visual representation of what it was like to listen to the massively over-compressed Yoshimi DVD-A? Epilepsy sufferers should note to keep Yoshimi's visuals off. Seriously.

They should have offered a menu option to turn it off.
