I'm confused; why aren't dual discs DVD-Audio side lossless? This doesn't seem to be a Sony dualdisc, but I may be wrong.
Apparently because videos are included, this is in fact not DVD-A but DVD-V, which are not "lossless."I'm confused; why aren't dual discs DVD-Audio side lossless? This doesn't seem to be a Sony dualdisc, but I may be wrong.
Some DualDiscs weren't lossless so that the consumers couldn't get a "perfect copy", AFAIK.I'm confused; why aren't dual discs DVD-Audio side lossless? This doesn't seem to be a Sony dualdisc, but I may be wrong.
Caravan's In The Land Of Grey & Pink is one DD-only 5.1 title that did eventually get reissued in lossless form on Blu-Ray. I still can't tell the difference between the two versions.…usually DD is too compressed for me. I think there’s a big difference between DD & DTS, especially in the low end.
You're right, PCM Stereo & 5.1 Dolby Digital, but its not bad for an old recording. But it ain't lossless! Which is what Methuselah's Grandpa was wishing for!
One of the best-sounding DD releases ever, IMO. Plus, it's in Dolby Audio on Apple Music--last time I checked, anyway. You're right, PCM Stereo & 5.1 Dolby Digital, but its not bad for an old recording.
You can’t tell the difference between the DD & the lossless? Is the DD that good or are you saying the BR-A is not that great?Caravan's In The Land Of Grey & Pink is one DD-only 5.1 title that did eventually get reissued in lossless form on Blu-Ray. They both sound great. It's an amazing 5.1 mix - the EQ, dynamics, spatial positioning, etc are spot-on. A conversion to DD won't change any of that. You can’t tell the difference between the DD & the lossless? Is the DD that good or are you saying the BR-A is not that great?
When that BD was released?Caravan's In The Land Of Grey & Pink is one DD-only 5.1 title that did eventually get reissued in lossless form on Blu-Ray. I still can't tell the difference between the two versions.
It’s in the Who Do We Think We Are box set:When that BD was released?
