Actually the SACD is 5 channel. But one channel is empty, so yeah, Quad.
I'm hanging on to mine for now, but I think that's a good deal.

My experience is pretty much all quadraphonic SACDs technically are 5 or 5.1 channels, as I rip them, and this is what shows up

I suppose for compatibility with more disc players/AVR's. Some pretty much blew off pure quad.
