hey everybody ive been into home theaters for a little over 6 years now from reading any dolby / dts documentation i could find online to modding retro windows emulators like dolphin and pcsx2 to support surround sound matrix decoded audio below is my system i use a 2016 windows laptop with a intel i7700HQ (undervolted very slightly so i get crazy performance from a older laptop still) gtx 1060 mobile 16gb of ram with a 4tb external usb 3.1 hard disk drive to store all of my media with a 2008 vizio plasma flatscreen 1080p 60hz one of the first vizio made of its kind with a vizio m51ax-j6 dolby atmos/dtsx soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and true rear speakers with hight virtulization aswell as a little usb tv tuner card and custom dolby digital plus home theater drivers for dolby pro logic 2x with dolby digital live support over optical comeing from my pc so i can use hdmi for descrete surround audio formats like dolby true hd atmos or dtsx dts hd ma then when i need too i can switch to optical for any audio soruce playing on my pc to decode pro logic 2x with stereo soruces or just encode to 5.1 with mutlichannel soruces then encodes to dolby digital plus at its highest bitrate with dolby digital live so i have in total dolby surround ( retro version not 2014) dolby pro logic 2 dolby pro logic 2x dolby digital dolby digital plus dolby true hd dolby atmos dts dts 96/24 dts hd dts hd ma dtsx aswell as lpcm wav flac and many more with mpc-be transcodeing!!!! so as u can see im rather nerdy with my home theater lel i wanted to show it off because everythang here is chost freindly aswell as older tech u dont need the best of the best hardware u just gotta know how to optimize software on this pc i play halo infinite low settings to be fair but at full 60fps with a full dolby atmos home theater so next time u see a post of the best of the best home theater and your mouth starts to water come here and realize you dont need the best of the best to still have a amazing home theater experince in 2025
