I purchased mine at Best Buy and the Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy set is what you want, there is no set like that that doesn't have the desired soundtrack although there is a basic Blu-ray carried at Best Buy that doesn't have the soundtrack but I suspect you had the right set when you attempted to check out and the sales person was mistaken. I am still waiting for more releases like this, what a great value and I don't care about the stupid DVD or DC but the soundtrack is an excellent extra. I wish I liked the movie better, I haven't seen many 2010 films yet but this one isn't one of my 2010 favorites after the first viewing. I like "The Social Network" and "Secretariat" better and have "Toy Story 3" but haven't watched it yet.

Well that sucks! If that's true, I could have saved myself a lot of trouble (however it was cheaper on Amazon). Can you imagine, a sales person at Best Buy not knowing what they were talking about?

Thanks Chris!

At one time, Best Buy stocked three copies of the movie.
I purchased the one that came with a book.....the most expensive copy......I think it set me back $40.00.

I bought the one from the UK that comes with the metal briefcase. It was about that price.

Not as discrete as preferred in the surrounds, more a compliment to the fronts. Still, I do like it, a good example of DTS-HD MSTR clean sound. The low end has wall shaking potential but I suppose you'd expect that.

Really wished they did something similar with the Interstellar score on that film's Blu-ray. I much prefer that score now.

That's funny, this was exactly my thought when I saw this thread title. The score for Interstellar is amazing, and it's a real shame there's no isolated version on the BluRay, let alone any kind of standalone 5.1 release. The "hi-rez" download (which is only 44.1kHz 24bit) and CD releases are disappointing too, aside from obviously being stereo only are also missing some important cues from the film.

I am looking at the files in Audacity now for this score. Nothing discrete at all. Same music in all channels. Great dynamic sound, would be sublime with a real surround mix.
