Not sure what we were watching, but of course it was broadcast TV. The news broke in with an announcement that he had been shot, but no information on his condition. I wondered how that could happen.

Thanks Simon for a wonderful thread. Ironically, I have a story that just developed.

Since my dad passed away a year ago, we finally moved my mom to town. Today, my brothers and I went to her farm house and started cleaning it out for the sale.

That’s the house I grew up in, and my most informative years. I’m the youngest, and once my siblings were gone, I had my own space in the attic!

There I learned to love music and new girlfriends. I also used the space to collect articles, and document the times.

I found a large folder with a ton of news papers I had saved. Among the hundreds was this…
