There is no poll thread for this album that I can find. So I'll say it here. All around -- packaging, disc authoring, bonus content, and the all-important music and Atmos mix itself -- this is a wonderful album. Fabulous Tull songs, the band doing Xmas like they have done since '68. I am hearing so many new things and so much depth of quality in the playing and recording. The remix by Bruce Soord probably outdoes Wilson -- it is simply glorious -- and has me hoping he will be the one, not Wilson, to remix any further Tull albums.
I had the CD in 2003, but it is MUCH BETTER here in Dolby Atmos. I wondered why this, of all
Tull albums, got a Dolby Atmos version, but given their folky-freak background and cozy Christmas
tunes in the pub atmosphere, this hits the right spot!

This Bruce Soord Atmos mix caught my attention.

The Fronts have exclusively the kick drum and bass, in the first song. The rest of the drum set comes out through other channels. Other songs have also some piano or guitar on Fronts, but never Vocals.

Center Channel is not used. Only minimal remote echo.

Main Ian vocals are dry at Wides, alternating with Top Middles, or reinforcing with Top Fronts to give the full reverb and enveloppe. Also, main dry flute at Wides complemented with Top Fronts and echo reverb on other channels.

Tops are used a lot for some of the discrete music, and partially vocals.

The Atmos mix gives a nice feeling of enveloppement with the music around, laterally and above, different from the traditional front-centric with effects or reverberations in the surrounds.

+1 I hope Bruce Soord mixes many more albums in Atmos, not just Jethro Tull.

This was (pun intended) not a main Tull album for me. But thanks to Bruce the Christmas album has come back to live for me.

I need more listening to the 3CDs and Atmos Blu-ray to fully appreciate the Bruce mixing work.
