Seems it did come out on DVD-A in 2002 on King Records Japan cat. no. KIAW-4. I can't find any other details on whether it was multi-channel. A few places in Japan (Amazon, Tower) have it listed, but no details and sold out of course.

Necro post..At long last found the DVD-A version of this classic album in Japan. I will post back detail when it eventually gets here.

Funnily enough, I finally grabbed.a mint copy of Miles’ Sketches of Spain - the MC version from Monster this week and somehow ended up with a second copy. Concierto de Aranjuez for days now… 😎

Wow! Didn’t realize the DVD-A was a 192/24 recoding! Extra stoked now! My copy does include the same Obi strip.

I haven’t seen the back cover, but Discogs list the tracks as the original four tunes. There were later versions (CDs) that added extra tunes from the original session. Can you confirm the DVD-A is the original material only?

It's the original material only. No bonus tracks but you'll be thrilled with the sonics. And its a very scarce title and discogs has no more for sale at present.

Thank you for the added info. I’m okay with just the originally released material. I was in search of high resolution copy of an album I already own and was going to be thrilled with a 96/24 stereo copy and now I’m over the moon with your revelation it is 192/24. Christmas comes early. 😎

Definitely know this DVD-A is incredibly rare and have been chasing it for a while. For those that don’t know, this was a Japan only release as well. I actually had it my Mercari Japan cart early in the year and waited too long trying to put together a buy package worth the cost of a proxy shipper. I was so bummed, which makes the recent find that much sweeter - even at a bit higher cost.

Actually, that buying effort was not a total bust as I turned up the big prize for me: the likewise incredibly rare Japan only DVD-A of Kenny Dorham’s Quiet Kenny. That album was number one on my Japan only want list - an album that may be finest jazz quartet trumpet album ever recorded. Perfect 10 for me.

I did a bit of research on the King Records KIAW series in hopes of finding more gems. So far only found Brian Bromberg’s Jaco and Wood albums. If anyone has or can link to a list of titles for the entire series I would be grateful. The label has a huge discography and my Google-fu has yet to allow me to parse out another such find as the Jim Hall album.
