Joey Molland, the last member of Badfinger’s classic lineup, has died at the age of 77.

The news was announced via a post on the Original Badfinger Facebook page, which noted Molland was surrounded by his longtime girlfriend Mary, his two sons and other family members. Molland had been facing health issues, including pneumonia, since last December.

Very saddened that Joe has passed. I first met him at a theater in Charlotte nearly two decades ago. After the show, he mentioned noticing the reaction my friend and I had when the band performed certain songs. Later, I got to chat with him more at a few Fab Four Fests in Nashville, including spending time with his late wife Kathi. Joe was very open and a kind person. RIP Joey. Thank you for all the music.

Hard to believe the entire group is now gone. As with "The Band" it is so sad and it makes me start to feel so very old!

I always loved the hits "Come and Get It" and "No Matter What" then along came the album "Straight Up". Straight Up came out as I was starting to purchase a lot of LP's, it contained three excellent singles and was/is an absolutely fantastic album from start to finish, with no filler at all! I could well understand why the Beatles would have chosen them to record on thier Apple label.
