I also got into him via the excellent Room to Move. Those wonderful vocalisations and flute. And then the amazing Beano album sometime later. I never cared much for Clapton, until I heard that album. And Mayall introduced me to Peter Green and the early, fab Fleetwood Mac catalogue. Also enjoyed his later, Chicago blues-sounding era.
Gone to that great blues gig in the sky.
 
I have been a fan since the 1980s. I have most of his albums including the mega box set from a few years ago. John Mayall is truly a major part of the Blues and he continued to keep Blues music alive for many years.
