I think I have found a new disc that has to take the award for best sonics in my collection. It's incredible! I have to keep checking my speakers to make sure that Keb is not in the room with me. The instruments as well are very "live." The music is great as well. One great song after another. The rears are used quite nicely as well. Definately recommended if you like blues with a bit of pop thrown in for good measure.

That is a good one in Surround SACD. Recommended.

One of my favorite albums and I'm not a blues fan. I call this "Upbeat Blues".

I just picked up "The Door" SACD today and it is almost as good as "Just Like You". Because it is Stereo only it looses a few points but only a few as it sounds fantastic. I hope the rest of his catalogue comes out as I will pick them all up.

Just checking my old posts. Funny how not much changes. To me this is still one of the best sounding SACD's available almost 3 years later and hundreds of more discs in my collection. The music is great as well. If you don't have this one pick it up before it is no longer available.

Agreed - this is a good one.

If you like Keb Mo, I'd suggest checking out some of the Eric Bibb SACDs on Opus 3.

They have more of an ambient Surround Sound mix, but the music and performances are in the same vein as Keb Mo.

I saw this guy perform live last year, I am a big blues fan. He is not one of my favorite Blues artists, but I need to see if I can find this soon before it is too late.

Chris

I saw 4 copies of Keb's 'The Door' SACD (Stereo only) at a nearby store.

If anyone is interested, there are a few titles I'd like to trade for. (North America only).

If any CURRENT member of QQF in the GTA is looking for a copy of 'Just Like You', send me a PM and I'll tell you which Best Buy still has (as of this morning) a copy sitting on the shelf.

You have to fetch it yourself. :)

Wow. Is that the actual shelf price? No wonder SACD didn't take off in the early days! I can just see even the average joe audiophile (of which I include myself) seeing that and putting it away.

On a similar note: there is Circuit City not far from me that has a new, sealed copy of Toto IV, Stereo only, on the shelf for 19.99. They had absolutely nothing else, but a single Dylan SACD. But they did have that!

Ah, Didn't realize it was Canadian dollars. Back in 2003, that would be about $20 US. Still a bit on the high side.

Ok, I'm off to study my geography!

But now it's pretty much $30 no matter which way you look at it. Which is around $60 cheaper than anywhere else you can get it at this point.

I finally had a perfect night to play this disc...

It is a sonic, musical and lyrical treat.

Definitely what a HiRez surround disc is supposed to be. It has a depth I have only heard on a few titles.

One of the very few albums that has caught me on the first listen.

I might go back and pick up that other copy I found a little while ago as a spare... unless some Guy beat me to it. :)

It's a 10... and I still haven't got around to the copy of 'The Door' I've had for a bit.
