This gets a "10" for me. I don't have Atmos capabilities, so I am only commenting on the DTS-HD MA stream, but even in 5.1, this sounds fantastic. As I mentioned in the other thread on the release, the mix is very discrete, with plenty going on in all the speakers. "Mitternacht" is definitely the wildest mix, with sounds bouncing around all speakers at all times. There's remarkable depth in the soundfield here, so I can only imagine how much deeper it gets in Atmos. The title track is also mixed in a very deliberate and discrete way. The main segments of the song aren't quite as playful, but the middle section, when it gets all weird and sound effect-y (for lack of a better word), is very fun and super discrete. The other tracks, while less extreme in the mixing, are fully immersive and mixed in an entirely appropriate way for each song. There also seemed to be a lot of "breathing room" in the mastering - I could turn it up pretty loud and it just sounded better and better. Overall, really well done.
Packaging, in true Kraftwerk style, is minimalist, with a smallish booklet containing illustrations and lyrics for "Autobahn". The menu is very easy to navigate, and each song is accompanied by a rotating series of images that changes for each track - nothing wildly exciting, but it works for what it is. Kudos for including the single versions in surround as well, and I'm glad that they included the original "Autobahn" animation for the video of the single version. The only bummer is that they missed an opportunity to include the original quad mix.
Highly recommended!
