An excellent mix- but may be ported from Tidal as I listened ti it 14db more than usual on Apple- which is unprecedented for me.

All songs but Wicked Game are Atmos- which is understandable as this track is a sole acoustic guitar and vocals and the lossless stereo version sounded great on my rig.

As it starts with one of the most unique surround effects I have heard.

First time listen to album- and this is my style of rock enjoyment these days.

Those albums are "Dolby Audio" which is 5.1 and not Atmos.

The left speaker only sound is a bug that has supposedly been fixed in the most recent Apple 4K OS update. You can also get around this by letting the track play for a couple seconds and then rewind back to the start and then the track should play properly.

I know I am late to the party, but I just played all the tracks on ”They Only Come Out At Night”, and damned if they aren’t 5.1! (Actually 4.0, as nothing seems to be coming out of the center or sub channels). This despite the “Dolby Audio” bug indicated on the screen, and *not* “Dolby Atmos”. Could this be an old quad mix? Are there other hidden jams out there?

Yes: over the past few months, quite a few old Columbia and RCA quads--a handful of them previously unreleased--have appeared on Apple Music with the "Dolby Audio" tag. (They're technically 5.1, but in practice they have silent center and sub.) Some of these same titles appeared earlier in the "Sony 360" format on Amazon HD and Tidal. You'll find posts about them peppering this thread and the other Apple Music threads, including this one:

It’s not a bug that they’re Dolby Audio, 5.1, quad, or whatever. They’re older, existing 5.1 and quad mixes. I can’t speak to Tidal, but they started putting them on Apple Music a couple of months ago or so. There aren’t a ton of them, but I’d guess there a couple dozen or so.

The bug is that Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos weren’t playing back correctly. That bug was fixed with an TV ios update before the holidays.

He meant “bug” as in “logo”
