Listening to in Dolby Atmos Streaming, via Tidal/Apple/Amazon

Don't get too excited. It's the quad mix, but with the rear channel information duplicated across the side and rear speakers.

For me though, who only had the quad mix from an SQ vinyl conversion, this sounds really good on my 5.1 system. Should have been done as "Dolby Audio" instead though, as Apple has done in the past for a number of old quad and 5.1 mixes, but they seem to have run away from that now.

Is this the first of the old Columbia/Epic/etcetera quads on Apple Music to be repurposed into an Atmos mix like this, rather than just being presented as is and labelled Dolby Audio?

And yeah, I had a brief flash of hope that they maybe had gone back to the masters and done a new mix from scratch. No such luck.

In the US store now. Listening in Atmos on Apple TV 4K currently and sounds pretty good so far.

This is playing in Atmos in the UK. Sounds great so far, Nice separation across all speakers. Just praying SDE release a Bluray of this as that will make a huge difference to the sound (at least on my system anyway). The Bluray version of Hurting is massively different to the Apple music version to my ears. EDIT * The mix for the whole album is fantastic. It feels very different from the 5.1. I also feel like SW is using different takes than before (although it may just be the way he's mixed it) as I'm hearing instrumental parts ive not heard before. Anyway....it's bloody brilliant!*

Not too bowled over, but may need another listen... To me it sounds like the results of when some random 70's album shows up in surround on Tidal if that makes sense.... It's Atmos according to the screen.... but...

I agree with most of this, channel separation is great and 95% of it is brilliant but unfortunately “Shout” lacks the thunderous drum sound that is in the 5.1 mix from many years ago, maybe this is an Apple limitation thing and the Blu-ray Disc will fix this.
