Nice. Not the original recording, but featuring many of the same players:

How's the mix--better than the Colin Currie?
Gave it a sample when doing some work this morning. Colin Currie version is better IMO. Initially this version opens up as “wide stereo”. It does tend to open up to some more surround activity the further in you get, but it’s not as strong as the Currie recording.

Ah, that's too bad. The piece pretty much demands that the ensemble members perform in close proximity to one another, though, so it would be almost impossible to get the sort of separation required for discrete content from any one channel. And this recording dates from the 1980s. Would love to see somebody like Morten Lindberg take a crack at miking this, though....

either it's a mistake or a slew of The Rolling Stones' albums are coming in Atmos as they're the new Spatial Audio Featured Artist on Apple Music but when you playthrough they're all Stereo only 🤔

Not holding my breath, but...let's hope for some good mixes.
In “Atmos” now… Well not really… Let It Bleed seems an upmix to me on the first couple of tracks on Amazon? I’d have been really surprised if it wasn’t to be honest. Where’s the Fraud Squad when you need them? 🚨

Listened to a couple of these records, including Let It Bleed. Sounded to me like there’s discrete elements in the surrounds but at a very low volume level. One thing I noticed listening to Midnight Rambler is that the drums are very present and detailed, able to hear the room they were recorded in. Monkey Man sounds really open and very funky. Could be an upmix, but my guess is that it’s an ATMOS mix that’s trying hard not to sound different than the original stereo mix.

Was hoping I’d wake up today and see Radiohead the Bends in Atmos for the 30th anniversary………but noooooooo god forbid Radiohead mix some of there catalog into Atmos not that the music isn’t perfect for it.
