Vocalion stereo SACD through the SM v.2. Great Shorter composition on this one: "Port of Entry." He's stellar throughout . . . as usual!

For Dead studio albums, this is my favorite.Just going to go all MOFI stereo tonight, surround takes my brain working a lot and many times I just like the simplicity of good stereo.

I bought this too (#258) and have only listened to "Kodachrome" - nice sound but I didn't like the mix. The voices are too recessed.Brand new from MOFI, released 2/28/2023 stereo. My #2169. Orginally released 1973. Has that sweet Muscle Shoals sound.
DR's are 11, 13's, 14's, 15.

Early pressings sound reaaaallly good! try them!YES BIG GENERATOR [ATCO Records/Stereo SACD/7" packaging] A little brittle but eminently listenable
Eh... Good dynamics, but a bit thin on tonality. Very common for 1987.Early pressings sound reaaaallly good! try them!
That’s what the eq controls are for! I prefer to boost the bass rather than the treble, but that’s just me.Eh... Good dynamics, but a bit thin on tonality. Very common for 1987.
The Fred Jackson is good, must look for the Eddie HarrisTijuana Moods - Mingus
Adiemus Songs of Sanctuary - Karl Jenkins
Hootin' & Tootin - Fred Jackson
Beethoven: Moonlight, Apassionata & Pathetique - Glenn Gould Japan SACD
Freedom Jazz Dance - Eddie Harris Japan SACD single-layer Recommended!
It's the only one I bought. Good fidelity, great music. Been meaning to pick up Pharoah Sanders. What little I've heard from other members, they've been pleased with the sound of titles they bought. Not cheap though...I see the Eddie Harris is on the Venus label. Do not have any of their discs.
How are they?
I was able to get a few VENUS single layer SACDs through Deep Discount for under $15 but the majority of them are priced at $40 domestically [a bit cheaper @ CDJapan but those s/h fees]!!!!!!!It's the only one I bought.
