My ONLY 'gripe' with Universal's SHM~SACD program was the complete lack of multichannel! For purists, it would've also included a Stereo layer. The White Box Japanese subject got my brain going in overdrive.
UIGY SHM SACD
I own 30 of them, there are at least 8 I don't own, according to the list.
The Discogs list unfortunately is not definitive as I own a few that are not on the list like a Leon Russell that is not on the list.
To complicate matters for the White Box Collector there is a UICY PLATINUM CD WHITE BOX list. They are less expensive.
The same Leon Russell is also a white box LEON RUSSSELL PLATINUM
Type TYGP-for a few Capitol Records White Boxes.
Even more complicated is the OBI strip, light green with SHM SACD and dark blue Platinum CD seem to get mismatched. I think all the Platinum CD's are dark blue but some of the SHM SACD's are dark blue as you see in my example below.
All the White Boxes seem to have a release dates on average 2013 and 2014. They sell from about $50.00 with shipping to around $80.00.
As Ralphie told me years ago, you can't own them all, well you could. But doing this research and going down memory lane will be good enough for me as I get to say, "I do not have a complete Japanese White Box collection".
Note: my most prized is Grand Funk-We're An American Band, not necessarily for the music, but the replica mini LP in the box is like solid gold. You don't even want to breath on it let alone touch it.
Have fun collecting whatever that may be.

And incredibly, the latest prices on SHM~SACDs has dropped from a once high of $60 to a low of about $22. Of course, the current packaging isn't as lavish but it's the content that counts!
Also loved those little 'boxes' and I haven't got nearly as many as you, Sir Markie, but with current DHL s/h from Japan averaging $26+ I can only imagine what those boxes would add to the total cost [but again, for 'collectors....' WHO CARES!
With Pure Audio BD~A ATMOS seemingly dominating the current landscape, I'm all IN! Just wish they'd utilize the incredible 'real estate' available on a single BD~A disc and dispense with all those 16/44.1 RBCDs by including them in 24b resolution on the BD~A ...AND DISPENSE WITH ALL THE CLUTTER!
