You're Better Off Dead if you haven't heard Elton! :p thanks for the stats Linda :)

If chart positions qualify as "commercial stuff," Capt. Fantastic ranked pretty high.
It was #1 in the US, although, it only hit #2 in the UK.

Elton John - Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy.

Wow, this sounds great.

among the best rock & pop surround music mixes to come out of the SACD/DVD-A time (I can't quite call it heyday!) imho.

rear-heavy it may be but I'd rather that than a mix where you don't even know whether your rear speakers are on! :D

Yes Caps, It does, Fredblue got me into the EJ stuff.........Snood was hesitant, but CAPT FANT was awesome - the drums and guitar were great. Great workout on Surround speakers too

Don't blame me, I'm not the piano player! :D

As much as I love love love the CF 5.1 (and I really do!) I still think the Tumbleweed Connection SACD is equally as good from a surround and sound quality pov, did you get that one yet Snood?

And look how big "Caribou" turned out to be:

I'm sure the two big hits, "The Bitch Is Back" and "Don't Let Your Son Go Down On Me" were what carried this album to the top of the charts. It's too bad we didn't see this one in surround too.

I bet Greg Penny went to town on this one in 5.1..! The 4 SACDs that got cancelled have a staggering array of hits on them that'd be so much fun in surround... "Crocodile Rock", "Daniel", "The Bitch Is Back", "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", "Island Girl", "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word".. and then there's the superb album cuts "Have Mercy On The Criminal", "Blues For My Baby and Me", "High Flying Bird", "Pinky", "Grimsby", "Ticking", "Grow Some Funk Of Your Own", "Street Kids", "Billy Bones & The White Bird", "Tonight", "One Horse Town", "Cage The Songbird", "Crazy Water", "Idol", "If There's A God In Heaven (What's He Waiting For?)".. and then the B-sides & bonus tracks.. "Skyline Pigeon (Piano Version)", "Pinball Wizard", "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", "Snow Queen".. if only.. maybe we'll get to hear these mixes one day, before we all kick the bucket! :p

The latest RPWL, "Wanted", only in DD 5.1, but I really like the album (very Floyd-ish in places), and there are some interesting bits in the surround mix which add to it.

I pulled out the old
Laser player and cleaned up a copy
of Sound of Music CD4
I have not played many CD4s on the player I fiddled with it
a number of years ago a got so so sound but this time I think I got it right
It sounded not to bad as it has been played by someone else
in Japan

Deep Purple-Phoenix Rising(Blu ray)this is the version of the band(75)that begat Whitesnake
