Talk about 'Breaking the Ice," Clement!

I had a bloody difficult time securing this one, including an unfortunate transaction on discogs that resulted in my leaving the site

But having finally found an actual DVD-A of this release (I was sent a CD instead on my first discogs order), it all seems worthwhile. Beautiful music and a reverent surround treatment.

How many times have we all been bitten on the bum by either the sellers ignorance or their down right dishonesty, in the pursuit of our beloved surround releases.
It is a very good album Clem.

Argent "In Deep" DV SACD - This sounds so much better in terms of fidelity and discreteness then the Q8! Still, listening to the track "God Gave Rock And Roll To You", I used Audacity and added +2 Bass and +5 Treble and I like it even better. Also, on the same track, the left channels in the second half of the song sound a little more in balance after lowering them each 1dB in the second half (can't help it... I'm a tinkerer!). I love the quadiness of the quiet section in the middle of the song... sublime.

... and we get another surround Christmas song on this disc as well... those are rare!

edit: some other cool parts are the second half of "Be Glad" and the song "Candles On The River".

tom cochrane & red rider trapeze the collection 5.1 MLP 96k 24b DVD-A: bumped the surrounds and the sub, good fun. This disc is all over the place in terms of style and it works. Good use of the surrounds definitely has discrete elements, low end is respectable and the sound is crisp enough. Just moved the cabinet (center channel) back a few inches, it made a difference, nice.

Let me count the ways ...... recently I saw a good price for a Stereo SACD on Amazon [sealed with a punch through barcode] from a reputable 100% satisfaction seller and e~mailed them immediately stating: "Please ensure that it is INDEED an SACD, as advertised, or else cancel order...." The very next day the order was INDEED canceled as it was a RBCD!

Just noticed this post. Wow! Even tho my avatar is from Ghost in the Shell, I have been a big fan of all things Evangelion for years. I had no idea this existed in surround. I will have to check around for this. At first I thought there would be an Evangelion Rebirth OST but no. There's Evangelion The End but I don't know if it was in surround. Can you give me a hint as to quality & surround mix?

Anno & Sagisu have collaberatoed again for the new Rebuild series of movies. I'll have to check & see what OST's have been released
. Anyone else know of anime soundtracks released in surround?
