Do you mean the woofers of the 4 speakers? When I listened to the MCH programme on that disc yesterday (for the first time), I did not even switch on my active sub because it was supposed to be the original quad mix (4.0) and not a 5.1 programme. Is there some filtered contents in the LFE channel?

Modern receivers will allow setting the main speakers to "Small" and automatically route the low frequencies to the sub even if there isn't a ".1" channel.

It may be because of my setup, but I actually reached underneath the sub to feel the speaker vibrating and it certainly was! My display also says it is a 5.1 version, but the center is probably silent, and the sub could be too, but my crossover is set to 80 hz on the fronts.

decided to give this a spin

Love this song. Very unusual...

Right. I forgot about bass management because I don't use that.

Be Bop Deluxe - Axe Victim is here DVDV chose the DTS, (sorry, no screen pics, it's mainly black so there are too many reflections) Straight away there are no worries about the mix on this one! no thoughts of tweaking any speakers at all. On screen the skull guitar strings are twanging away and the jaw opening and closing. Here's a pic of the back of the included postcard from Cherry Red.

DAMN! I'm SO excited for you two--gonna live vicariously. I have a vague recollection of pre-ordering this one (i simply MUST have--i have the other three!), but i'll be damned if i can remember from where--i'm going to need to start recording my purchases somewhere. Until then, please keep the commentary coming! Stay Surrounded, Comrades!

This also arrived today, Kansas - The Absence of Presence Blu-ray, I am listening to the LPCM, it's a bit different to the Be-Bop the surround is not so 'in your face' and I am getting the urge to up the rears a bit, but there is stuff going on in them, the whole thing sounds less defined. The music itself is great though.
