Here is a big hit on QQ not too long ago, everyone liked it.
I have a question: I ripped the DVD, both the 4.0 which I am listening to now, and the 5.1.
I have played back via JRiver like I do everyday, the 4.0 is perfect, but the 5.1 sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks, weird never have I experienced this, don't remember this when I ripped years ago.
Any way I guess I could re-rip, but where is it? Some stack somewhere.
Keep in mind David Coverdale getting better on this this disc, not quite Whitesnake but getting there.
If you have some insight as to why the 5.1 plays like Chipmunks, thanks. Something technical I presume?

This quad mix would be a great candidate for Rhino Quadio, as would the unreleased-in-digital U.S. quad mix of Machine Head, assuming both are still owned by Warner here. Paging @ForagingRhino...
I would love to see this as a Quadio title.
I recently ripped this (and tons off other stuff) to MKV files with MakeMKV, so perhaps our results are different.
When I throw the MKV file in VLC, I’m presented with two audio track options... Stereo and Surround 5.1. I’m not even seeing a 4.0 option and had assumed when the back said Original Quad mix in 5.1, I wouldn’t see 4.0. I’m jealous if that’s an option you have, or maybe I did something wrong during the rip process. (Or sorry if I’m misinterpreting something.)
Anyway, whether Stereo or 5.1, they play normal for me.
And just a side note about the playing. I remember someone on a forum years ago saying that while Blackmore does not enjoy playing “funky” music, he can sure do it!

Fish ex-singist of Marillion has re-released the 2008 album 13th Star, 3CD/Blu-ray set with a Dolby Atmos mix, I'd never heard this album before but I'm liking it a lot and the Atmos mix is very good indeed. I was wondering what size this package was going to be, maybe Marillion re-release size, no, it's the same as Weltsmerz.

Haven't played this one in a loooong time. Holy buckets it's awesome! From the thunderous bass in the first track to Hiromi's perfectly rendered piano in the final track. It's an audio delight start to finish.
