New arrival! I sampled a stereo version of this and couldn't get into it. I heard the screeching and said "Nope". Next I see all my QQ friends listening to this and loving it. And then @edisonbaggins does his review and describes the 5.1 mix a showpiece. So dropped the $22 at Amazon and the disc arrived the next day. And now my mind is blown over the active 5.1 mix and the beauty of the Atmos mix. Now I'm a fan. Really happy I got this before it becomes out of print.

The band and David Fridmann really go to town with their surround mixes. The Soft Bulletin and At War With The Mystics 5.1s are also a real treat

I was watching the video from the new Marillion-This Strange Engine, and some of the band members felt
Afraid Of Sunlight was there best, so I decided to listen again. The Deluxe Box released 11/01/2019.
Blu Ray rip, 24/bit/48Khz FLAC file 5.1 surround. DR's are 11's, 12's, 13's.

Ravel: Selected Orchestral Works MFSL SACD 4.0 & 5.0

*The first 5 tracks are the typical classical style, with 4.0 and front ambience to the rears; however track 6 is 5.0 with slightly more of a discrete mix, with the choral more focused coming from the rears.

This is an excerpt from the liner notes below:

"... in the case of Daphnis and Chloé - the choir in the rear of the hall, singing towards the stage, but also being picked up by the ambience mics in the hall. (widely space cardioids facing away from the stage.)"
