My first post. I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, or not permitted.

I bought this new decades ago. I don't even remember where I got it. Anyway it's on epay if anyone can use it. Starting bid of $125.

I saw this on eBay also. But I bought a JVC demodulator that was NOS. When I got it, it would not power on. I don't think I'd buy anything that is that old without knowing it at least powers on.

Unfortunately, buying a NOS piece of electronic equipment is no guarantee of getting a piece that will work. In fact, it's probably worse then buying a used piece that is described as working by the seller. Electronic components will deteriorate just sitting, having never had current flowing through them, especially capacitors, which will chemically break down.. It is better for them to actually be used for what they are intended.

So I plugged it in and pressed the power button. The blue-green "4" light came on, and after about 4 seconds I heard the relay click. It's been on for about 15 minutes, and there is no odor emanating from it.
Is there any way to check it out beyond that? I don't have a turntable.
